Under the ForHimSDG project for Hindu Kush Himalayan ( HKH) region which has eight countries, the Sustainability course has been designed. This projected is funded by DAAD ( German Academic Exchange Service) and lead by Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research (Germany) in collaboration with the Asian Institute of Technology (Thailand) and Kathmandu University (Nepal).
This is an interdisciplinary course that follows systems thinking and a transdisciplinary approach. The course provides a general introduction to the theory of sustainability and historical development of the concept of sustainable development at global, regional and local scales. The course introduces general skills for systematic sustainability analyses based on quantitative and qualitative approaches.The teaching consists of recorded lectures audio, video, self reading material, reference, content. The lectures are developed from various fields like from policy makers, professors from various fields, actors in society. The course had been developed by professors who were trained in 2022 by ForHimSDG. Beside this in May- June hybrid classes(online and interaction) were also run to know the effectiveness of online courses. During the hybrid course the students from KU(Kathmandu University) and AIT(Asian Institute of Technology) took the classes.As the output of all these activities this course has been designed.
